Mitchell & Dickinson is an award winning eco company which specialises in custom made, craftsmanship led insulation solutions for period and listed properties.
Our mission is to significantly reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption and cost of heating Britain’s older homes whilst preserving our national architectural heritage. Our market is growing as owners of period homes respond to the rising cost to heat their homes and the urgent need to reduce their carbon footprint.
With a head office in Bideford we work all over the south of England and into Wales and employ around 70 talented staff.
About you
Due to our growth we need to recruit an additional Business Development Executive to work in our successful head office team in Bideford.
The successful candidate will have experience of older properties , their architecture, period features and maintenance. They will also have excellent written and verbal communications skills, experience of computer and tech applications, strong numeracy, and be articulate, bright and results driven. Key to the role will be their ability to converse at high level, largely by telephone or on email to fact find and advise owners of listed and period properties who are our customers.
A passion for the environment and the climate agenda will be an advantage.
The Role
This is a telephone and email-based role but does not involve any cold calling. You will be talking to prospective customers who have read about our energy efficiency solutions for period and listed properties and who are actively interested in finding the right solution for their home. You will, through positive conversation on the telephone, establish an understanding of their needs and advise them on how our solutions could benefit them, then arrange a survey, a quotation, and follow up advising them all the way, to confirm the details and size of their order for our services. You will record details of your conversations and create quotations using our in house computer system and CRM which you will use to manage your pipeline and surveyor appointments.

You’ll earn a salary plus uncapped commission and quarterly bonuses to bring your total earnings package to between £25k and £30k per annum.
You’ll get 33 days paid holiday a year (incl bank holidays and pro-rata with the hours you work), a company pension scheme and can be part of our health support scheme after 6 months with us.
